1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using TheDailyPoop ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
TheDailyPoop is a daily news briefing app that:
- Delivers a daily news briefing ("drop") every morning with curated top stories
- Offers interactive news games: Word Drop (word puzzle) and Poop or Scoop (real vs. fake headlines)
- Provides friend groups and leaderboards for social competition
- Offers audio briefings for hands-free listening
- Offers optional PRO subscriptions for premium features
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use TheDailyPoop. The App is rated 12+. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
4. Account and Registration
- You must sign in using Sign in with Apple
- You must choose a unique username during onboarding
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID
- You must provide accurate information when setting up your profile
- One account per person — do not create multiple accounts
5. News Content
- News briefings are generated using AI and curated from public news sources
- Stories are summarized for brevity and are not original reporting
- TheDailyPoop does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any news content
- News content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only
- We are not a registered news organization and do not employ journalists
6. User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Harass, bully, or threaten other users in groups
- Post offensive or inappropriate content in group names or usernames
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or exploit the App or its APIs
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the App
- Attempt to cheat in games (submitting fabricated scores, manipulating game state)
- Circumvent subscription paywalls or premium feature restrictions
7. Subscriptions and Payments
7.1 PRO Subscription
TheDailyPoop offers optional PRO subscriptions that unlock premium features including additional stories, games, leaderboard access, audio briefings, and extended archive.
7.2 Pricing
- Monthly: $7.99/month
- Annual: $59.99/year ($4.99/month)
7.3 Billing
- All payments are processed through Apple's App Store
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
- Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy
- Prices may change with notice; existing subscribers will be notified before renewal at a new price
8. Content Ownership and License
8.1 Our Content
All App design, features, games, news summaries, graphics, logos, and functionality are owned by TheDailyPoop and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. News stories are AI-generated summaries of publicly available information.
8.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create (profile pictures, usernames). By using the App, you grant TheDailyPoop a license to store and display this content as needed to provide the service.
9. Privacy and Data
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to:
- Collection of account and usage data as described in our Privacy Policy
- Storage of your data in our Supabase database
- Sharing your game scores with group members and on public leaderboards (PRO)
- Push notifications for new daily drops and group activity
10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services:
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, APNs): Subject to Apple's Terms and Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat: Subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Terms and Privacy Policy
- Supabase: Database and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Terms
- AI APIs (OpenAI, Google, Perplexity): Used for news generation. No personal user data is shared.
We are not responsible for these third-party services or their terms.
11. Termination and Account Deletion
11.1 Your Right to Terminate
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. This will:
- Permanently delete your profile and all personal data
- Remove your game scores and leaderboard entries
- Remove you from all groups
- Cancel push notification delivery
This action is irreversible. Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through Apple.
11.2 Our Right to Terminate
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service.
12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
12.1 "As Is" Service
TheDailyPoop is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Accuracy or completeness of news content
- Availability and uptime of the App
- Compatibility with all devices
- Freedom from bugs or errors
12.2 Not Professional News
TheDailyPoop is an entertainment and information app. News summaries are AI-generated and may contain errors. Do not rely solely on TheDailyPoop for critical news. Always verify important information with primary news sources.
12.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TheDailyPoop and its developers shall NOT be liable for:
- Any damages arising from your use of the App
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated news content
- Loss of data due to technical issues or account deletion
- Damages from interactions with other users in groups
- Damages from third-party services
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TheDailyPoop and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the App.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of India.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TheDailyPoop regarding the App.
