Raph ("we," "our," or "the app") is an AI-powered pet food scanner and health intelligence app for dogs and cats. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how it's used, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

2. Third-Party Services

We share specific data with the following third-party services to provide app functionality:

OpenAI

When you scan food, use the AI chat, or view breed profiles, your request is processed by OpenAI's API. Data sent to OpenAI includes:

Food label photos (for ingredient analysis)
Your pet's profile information (name, species, breed, age, weight, medical conditions, allergies) to personalize the analysis
Chat messages you send to the pet assistant

OpenAI processes this data via their API and does not use API data to train their models. OpenAI retains API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it. See OpenAI's API Data Usage Policy.

Supabase

Your account data, pet profiles, food scans, medications, and vaccinations are stored securely in our Supabase database with row-level security — you can only access your own data. Pet photos are stored in Supabase Storage. See Supabase Privacy Policy.

Apple

We use Sign in with Apple for authentication and Apple's StoreKit for subscription management. Apple processes your payment information directly — we never see your payment details.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not use any analytics or tracking SDKs
We do not serve advertisements
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers
We do not track you across other apps or websites
We do not collect your precise location
We do not access your contacts, calendar, or other personal data

4. Device Permissions

Camera: Used to scan food barcodes and photograph ingredient labels. Photos are only used for analysis and are not stored beyond what you choose to save.
Photo Library: Used to select pet photos and food label images from your gallery.
Notifications: Optional. Used for medication reminders, health tips, scan reminders, and daily health log prompts. Each type can be toggled independently in Settings.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Our database uses row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data. Authentication is handled through Apple's secure Sign in with Apple service. API keys are stored securely and never exposed to the client.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. When you delete your account:

All pet profiles, food scans, medications, vaccination records, and your user profile are permanently deleted from our database
Pet photos are removed from storage
This action is irreversible

You can also export your data as JSON from Settings > Export Pet Data before deleting your account.

7. Children's Privacy

Raph is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States (OpenAI, Supabase). By using Raph, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data (via the app or by contacting us)
Export your data (Settings > Export Pet Data)
Delete your data (Settings > Delete Account)
Withdraw consent for AI processing (contact us to disable AI features)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the latest revision.
